Departure from Catania or Taormina. Continue via motorway to Giarre – S. Venerina – Milo – Fornazzo and Strada Mare-neve. Visit to a lava flow cave and continuation by off-road vehicle through the Ragabo forest to the lava front that reached the road blocked by the lava flow from the 2002 eruption. Technical stop at the Alpine Refuge. Departure towards the extinct craters of the Sartorius Mountains. Start of the trekking within the Sartorius Mountains nature trail. End of the trek. Lunch (not included) in a farmhouse or in an alpine refuge. Continuation on the Mare-neve road up to Linguaglossa – Castiglione di Sicilia and Francavilla. Visit to the Alcantara Gorges. Continue to Fiumefreddo or Giardini – A18 motorway. Return to the hotel/meeting point.
Duration approximately 8 hours – Easy excursion

Departure at 8.30am – Return around 4.30pm

Excursion not recommended for children who are not used to walking and who are under the age of 10 years. - We recommend dressing appropriately, trekking shoes and a windproof jacket are mandatory. - The excursion is also not recommended for anyone with even mild heart or respiratory problems. Due to the minimum number of participants not being reached, we reserve the right to cancel the tour.
